NFI Certified Gas Specialist
Certification for professionals who install or plan gas hearth appliance systems. The certification courses cover the fundamental knowledge identified by industry experts and practitioners.  The industry-recognized body of knowledge includes core knowledge such as combustion, heat transfer, construction, and safety principles. Installation knowledge specific to gas appliances and venting includes regulations and instructions, fuel delivery, appliance requirements, venting and ventilation, and troubleshooting.  All major gas hearth appliances-fireplaces, gas log sets, inserts, and freestanding stoves-and venting methods-conventional Type B vent, direct vent, liner systems, and vent-free-are covered.
